This video attempts to make precise the definition of “disparity” as used in popular discourse. Using this definition, the probability of disparity is then estimated using an augmented 2020 United States Census questionnaire as indicative of the structure of an underlying probability table. In order to accomplish this, the set of all probability tables is put in a one to one correspondence with the hypercube. This yields a precise meaning of the phrase “at random” and allows one to compute the probability of disparity by “averaging over” all probability tables with a particular structure.
