This is a talk given at the 2021 All Things Open conference. It is a shorter version of the talk given at the 2022 Amazon re:MARS conference with a similar name. The purpose of this talk is to show the mathematics that provide the foundation for predictive modeling, demonstrate a unification of various predictive modeling methodologies, and point the way towards the creation of models which are simultaneously precise and explicable.
